Installation Instructions

Installing the Forespar® SR-2 Jib Roller is straightforward when following these steps carefully:

Preparing the Jib Rollers

1. Decide on the placement of the jib rollers either above or below the spreader tips. Positioning them below the spreaders typically makes installation easier.
2. Pre-assemble the parts on deck to minimize the risk of losing components while working from the boatswain’s chair.
3. Keep a 3-inch piece of masking tape nearby and attach it to the shroud for temporary assembly assistance.

Assembling the Hub and Inserts

4. Select the appropriate inserts based on your wire shroud size.
5. Insert the liners into the two halves of a hub and position them around the shroud.
6. Use the masking tape to loosely secure the hub assembly, ensuring that the mating faces of the inserts are parallel with the hub faces.
7. Align the two clearance screw holes at one end of the hub with the corresponding smaller holes on the opposite hub half.
8. Insert the four supplied screws and tighten them just enough to allow the hub assembly to slide along the wire shroud. Remove the masking tape once secured.

Installing the Rollers

9. Attach the two halves of each jib roller together, ensuring that one half with clearance holes aligns with the half without clearance holes.
10. Secure the roller halves by tightening the screws completely.
11. Position the jib roller on the shroud at your desired location.
12. Fully tighten the four hub screws to ensure the hub interfaces are securely closed, providing a stable and smooth-operating jib roller.
